“ Never in the history of America, has there ever been a better time to purchase real estate!”

Old Metairie Real Estate

The Old Metairie luxury real estate market includes numerous upscale areas located conveniently to the New Orleans and Metairie areas. This neighborhood is flocked with tree lined streets and has a mixture of quaint estate & historic homes along side gorgeous new mansions. There is an array of shops containing apparel, home décor, gourmet foods and specialty wares along Metairie Road. This luxury thoroughfare ranks as one of the most desirable housing markets in the New Orleans area.

The Metairie Real Estate residential base is gradually shifting from a primarily suburban residential community, to various mixed commercial uses including retail malls, shopping centers, office buildings, night clubs and entertainment.

Metairie luxury homes for sale include beautiful areas along Airline Drive and W. Metairie Avenue, to the Old Metairie City line boundary at Roosevelt Dr, north to Lake Ponchartrain. Lavish Estate Properties in Metairie include extravagant lake side homes which overlook Lake Ponchartrain, beautiful multi story condominiums, cottage home style communities, diverse subdivisions and gated communities.

Old Metairie is also home to the prestigious New Orleans Country Club and the Metairie Country Club. It is conveniently located near City Park, a 1300 acre attraction featuring the New Orleans Botanical Gardens, Carousel Gardens Amusement Park and Storyland fairytale ground. The park also includes streets and trails for physical fitness, tennis courts, a golf course, equestrian stables, and numerous athletic fields. You may rent paddle boats and canoes to cruise the 11 miles of lagoons that are stocked with a variety of fish. City Park is also home to the New Orleans Museum of Art which features a permanent collection of more than 40,000 items and host many temporary exhibitions. The five acre Sidney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden features an installation of 50 sculptures amongst beautiful oaks, magnolias and camellias.

Many of Metairie's night clubs and restaurants are located along Veterans Boulevard, which was planned and developed as Metairie's commercial district. The New Orleans Saints and the New Orleans Zephyrs AAA baseball team maintain their offices in Metairie. Lexus of New Orleans and Mercedes Benz of New Orleans is located in Metairie. Metairie is similar to New Orleans in many ways, but it is not located in Orleans Parish. Metairie is locally governed by the Parish Council of Jefferson, not by any city council or police jury.

Metairie communities consist of Metaire Club Gardens, Livingston Place, Farnham Place, Bonnabel Place, Bucktown, Jefferson Heights, Ponchartrain Shores, Westgate, Beverly Knoll, Bissonet Plaza, Metairie Terrace, Willowdale and Metairie Lakefront.
