“ Never in the history of America, has there ever been a better time to purchase real estate!”

Metairie Real Estate

Metairie Real Estate Markets are classified as the first western suburb of New Orleans, Louisiana, located on the south shore of Lake Pontchartrain. Metairie Real Estate is located between New Orleans and the City of Kenner. Metairie and New Orleans were both created by alluvial deposits of the Mississippi River system over thousands of years. Metairie is physically separated from New Orleans by the 17th Street Drainage Canal.

There are many beautiful homes for sale along Metairie Road which is known as "Old Metairie". Various shops, professional buildings, and shopping centers have developed along Metairie Road, which is one of the most picturesque areas of the Metairie Real Estate Market. Lakeside Shopping Center, one of Louisiana's oldest and largest shopping malls, is located on Causeway Boulevard in the heart of Metairie.

The Metairie Real Estate residential base is gradually shifting from a primarily suburban residential community, to various mixed commercial uses including retail malls, shopping centers, office buildings, night clubs and entertainment. Metairie homes for sale include beautiful areas along Airline Drive and W. Metairie Avenue, to the Kenner City line boundary at Roosevelt Dr, north to Lake Ponchartrain. Current Metairie homes for sale include extravagant lake side homes which overlook Lake Ponchartrain, beautiful multi story condominiums, cottage home style communities, and diverse subdivisions and gated communities.

Many of Metairie's night clubs and restaurants are located along Veterans Boulevard, which was planned and developed as Metairie's commercial district. The New Orleans Saints and the New Orleans Zephyrs AAA baseball team maintain their offices in Metairie. Lexus of New Orleans and Mercedes Benz of New Orleans is located in Metairie. Metairie is similar to New Orleans in many ways, but it is not located in Orleans Parish. It is locally governed by the Parish Council of Jefferson, not by any city council or police jury. Lafreniere Park is located in central Metairie between Veterans Memorial Blvd. and West Napoleon Ave. This beautiful 150 acre park is a favorite for recreation such as soccer, cycling, jogging fishing and softball players. Lafreniere Park has a beautiful Christmas display and is also the home of several food and music festivals throughout the year. There are numerous parks located throughout Metairie and Jefferson Parish has a very active recreation department for your family.

Metairie communities consist of Metaire Club Gardens, Livingston Place, Farnham Place, Bonnabel Place, Bucktown, Jefferson Heights, Ponchartrain Shores, Westgate, Beverly Knoll, Bissonet Plaza, Metairie Terrace, Willowdale and Metairie Lakefront.
