“ Never in the history of America, has there ever been a better time to purchase real estate!”

Lakeview and Lakefront Real Estate

Lakeview and Lakefront New Orleans are popular areas near and along Lake Pontchartrain. Hurricane Katrina hit this area hard by levee failures which resulted in significant flooding. However, numerous restaurants, businesses, and attractions are back and there are many rebuilding projects prevalent in the area.

New construction, single-family homes are visible on just about every street in Lakeview. Harrison Ave. hosts numerous businesses and notable restaurants. City Park is within walking distance of the communities located in Lakeview and Lakefront.

Area attractions include City Park, Lake Pontchartrain, Old Spanish Fort, Helenic Cultural Center, University of New Orleans, and West End Park. Lakefront Park is the home of many area bicycle tours, fun runs, and marathons. Seafood restaurants are popular along the shore of Lake Pontchartrain.

The New Orleans Lakefront Airport is also located in the Lakefront area. This section of the city is bordered by Jefferson Parish on the West, City Park Ave. on the South, Orleans Ave. on the East, and Lakeshore Dr. along the North. The neighborhoods are filled with housing, which includes wood-frame cottages, ranch style brick homes, Italianate villas, and contemporary post-modern mansions. Sailboat lovers and yachtsman dock their vessels at the New Orleans Marina and many are members of the New Orleans Yacht Club.

Popular restaurants in the area include Lakeview Harbor, The Steak Knife, Mondo, Beebes, Landry's, Russell's, Touché Café, Wasabi, Pontchartrain Point Café, and Lego.

Lakeview and the Lakefront area are as in demand as ever. Prices are diverse ranging from $150,000 through $3,000,000 price range. An increased supply of available properties had drawn many to the area who enjoy this type of lifestyle. Area residents walk, jog, ride bikes, and children can play in the front yards. Major thoroughfares like Canal Blvd., Robert E. Lee, and Harrison Ave. have been repaired and brought significant improvements to area drivers. Strong civic associations work to strengthen the lifestyle of area residents and continue to keep these areas in demand.
